Dr. Suzanne Rydzik, B.Sc., M.D., C.C.F.P.
Dr. Rydzik received her medical degree from the Univertity of Ottawa. She specialised in Family Medicine with McGill University and completed Emergency Medicine at the University of Ottawa. Having always had a special interest in Dermatology in 1994 she started A Touch of Light which offered the emerging IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology for hair removal and then for treatment of skin blemishes and rosacea. As new technology emerges Dr. Rydzik prides herself in bringing to Ottawa efficient and safe treatments for more and more problems so that her patients can enjoy the results. She is a member of the Canadian Medical Cosmetic Physicians as well as the International Anti-Aging Society and International Hormone Society.
She is also a firm believer in prevention medicine and developed a Weight Management Clinic in 1985 as well. She specially but not exclusively help patients with hypertension, diabetes,etc... Several family physicians refer patients to her clinic after seing the very good long term results!
She studied Phlebology (varicose veins treatment) with world known expert Dr. Pauline Martimbeau in Houston (TX), U.S.A She is a member of the Canadian Phlebology Society and offers advanced medical treatments.
With the advent of Botox to treat Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) she received special training and runs a very busy clinic to help patients suffering with this disabling conditions.
Beside being very busy with her medical and cosmetic clinic, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends but also enjoys oil painting, music and dancing. She believes in fitness while having fun and enjoys soccer, golf, cross country skiing, and dancexercise.
She fulfilled her dream of working in Africa and participated in several missions with the Canada Africa Community Alliance (CACHA) and helping with fundraising activities. Dr. Rydzik has a special love for mentally handicapped people and has been involved with the Association pour l'Intégration Sociale d'Ottawa as a Board Member and as the President for 11 years. She also is the physician of the Ottawa Adult Down Syndrome Clinic.
What patients often rave about is our great staff! I am very proud of them and I know that, just as my patients, we can rely on their great skills. This is what team work is all about and provides a pleasant experience to everyone.
Heather
Since 1994, Heather has been that friendly voice on the phone booking your appointments and that smiling face that greets you upon your arrival to the office. Over the years, all of our clients have come to know and appreciate Heather's caring and professional disposition. She is our accomplished office manager and very skilled problem solver. She also knows how to put you at ease and even make you laugh. Her cheerful and positive attitude help set the tone for a rewarding experience for our clients.
Cheryl
Cheryl is a registered nurse who joined our clinic in 1994. She already had several years experience as a weight management counsillor and was a fundamental contributor towards the development of our weight management clinic. She has been there at the start of A Touch of Light and still loves the challenge of learning new techniques that will bring better and safe results to her clients.
Anne
Anne is our medical aesthetician who
brought along with her a wealth of knowledge and skills specially in
skin care, facials, peals and specialised skin treatments. She is
also very skilled with the use of all our different equipements. She
provides treatments for cellulite and is very enthousiastic to see
the great results obtained.
Diane
A stay at home mom re-emerging into the workforce, Diane came to our clinic initially with more heart than experience as part-time secretarial help. She has since that time demonstrated her abilities as a fast learner and quick thinker. Her pleasant voice and smile makes everyone fell specially welcome.

LE Doctor Suzanne Rydzik
Dr. Rydzik is the medical director of A touch of Light. She graduated from the University of Ottawa with an Honours B.Sc in Biology and a Doctorate in Medicine. She then specialized in family and emergency medicine. While continuing with her successful family practice, in 1996 she became interested in aesthetic medicine, bringing to Ottawa a new technology (IPL) for hair removal. At that time a new specialty was emerging: Cosmetic Medicine. Men and women no longer had to go to the extreme of surgery to improve their appearance.
Being a strong advocate of preventative medicine she then also added nutritional counseling and weight management to her practice. She takes pride in bringing to her clinic innovative and safe treatments so that her patients can feel and look as good as they can for their age - any age!
Heather
Since 1995, Heather’s smile and friendly voice on the phone was the first introduction people had to the clinic. She is a master into multi-tasking since she not only takes appointment and give information to the clients but she is also an accomplished office manager. She overseas our employees schedule, ensures that supplies are readily available and is responsible for the accounting.
Cheryl
Cheryl, a registered nurse, came to our clinic in 1996. She had several years experience in weight management. She also developed an interest and enthusiasm for cosmetic medicine. She is a master in doing IPL, laser treatments such as Fraxel, Thermage and endermology. Her professionalism and kindness is well appreciated.
Diane
Diane is Heather’s sister in law. A proud mother of five children and grand-mother of two, she came to our office as a part-time secretary in 1995. Although, she did not have any previous experience, she quickly learnt the multiple intricacies of the reception area. Her warm and welcoming smile makes people feel at ease.
