SOFT TISSUE AUGMENTATION
The augmentation of soft tissue is indicated for nasolabial folds, tear troughs, wrinkles, scars, sunken areas, lips, chin and cheeks. Over the past 20 years, intense industry research has aimed to establish an ideal dermal filler substance. The ideal filler substance is easy to inject, nontoxic, non allergic, non carcinogenic and affordable while giving a natural long lasting result.
During your consultation, Dr. Rydzik will discuss with you the characteristics of the different fillers that are offered at our clinic to help you decide which one will respond better to your needs. She will review your medical history to review any possible contraindications. If you decide to proceed you will be asked to refrain from taking medications such as aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications such as Advil or Motrin.You can take Tylenol (acetaminophen) if needed pre-treatment. Depending on the area to be treated, ice can be applied for comfort or a nerve block if doing lip augmentation. After the injection, you may have some swelling, redness and bruising. Usually, you will be able to cover it with make-up.
We offer non-permanent fillers such as Restylane, Juvederm, Evolence, Esthelis and a permanent filler ArteSense.
RESTYLANE
This product gives shape with the body’s own natural material called hyaluronic acid. This non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid was the first offered and is used in over 40 countries. It binds water in your skin, to lift and give new firmness. Gradually, the water is reabsorbed, and the augmentation will last between 6 to 9 months. In some areas like under the eyes it may last 12 months or more.
It is totally non-allergenic and is offered in three different gel particle sizes:
Restylane Fine Lines: is used specially where the skin is thinner such as the fine lines around the mouth.
Restylane : is used for deeper folds such as nasolabial or for lip augmentation
Perlane: is used for deeper folds or for lip augmentation
JUVEDERM
This injectable is also made of hyaluronic acid and comes in different particle (thickness) sizes and with a built in anesthetic agent. With the exception of the built in anesthetic it has the same properties as Restylane.
ESTHELIS
This is the latest hyaluronic acid filler in Canada and
EVOLENCE
Evolence is a natural product and due to the Glymatrix technology it is able to mimic the properties of the natural collagen found in the skin. Therefore, while an allergic reaction is theoretically possible, it is extremely rare and does not require pre-testing. It will last at least 12 months.
